The falling inflationary expectations index describes the respondents' attitudes to rising prices. When the index is above 100 points, it means that a majority of people expect inflation to decline.
If the index assumes a value below 100 points it means that an increase in inflation is expected. At 100 points the index shows that these views balance each other, or that most people believe the inflation rate will remain unchanged.

Inflation expectations are determined on the basis of questions included in the monthly Omnibus survey conducted since December 1991 on a representative random-quota sample of 1000 Poles aged 15 and above.
