The Polish OTC Consumer. 2011 Edition

09-12-2010

OTC products are available in Poland not only in pharmacies, but also in kiosks, petrol stations, drugstores and in grocery shops. The market for products sold without prescriptions is still growing rapidly, while the temporary downturns have little effect on it.

Let’s take a closer look at this market. How are Poles coping with their health complaints? How do they understand prophylaxis? Who takes pills for skin, hair, or weight, or as a source of energy or to make them feel better?  Where do they get their information from?

These and other questions are answered by the report “The Polish OTC Consumer”. The goal of this report is to analyze Poles’ habits and attitudes related to taking products sold over the counter.

The report “The Polish OTC Consumer” covers such issues as: assessment of one’s own health and resistance; prophylaxis; the complaints occurring most often; self treatment; the role of the doctor and the pharmacist; the process of choosing products; reasons for buying; and attitudes towards health and OTC products.

An important section of the report will be segmentation based on attitudes towards health and OTC products.
We will not only describe the market, but also investigate all the changes as compared to 2010.

The survey will be conducted on January 2011 on a representative nationwide Polish sample of N=800, with respondents aged 15 and over. The questionnaire-based interviews is carried out using the face-to-face method and CAPI technology (Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing, the interviews conducted using a laptop).
